Painted Hills Natural Beef Event Aims to Involve Local Community in Product Development

(Fossil, Ore. ) - Painted Hills Natural Beef, based in Fossil, Oregon , today announced their first annual “Country Cook-Off & Hoedown” on April 2, 2005 at 3:00 P.M. This event, to be held at the local Wheeler County Fair Grounds in Fossil, aims to involve several local communities in the company’s product development process. This unique development venture will focus on the Painted Hills Heat-N-Serve Meatloaf.

Beginning March 14, Painted Hills Natural Beef will be accepting contestant registration for the cooking competition. Contestants will compete for the coveted First Place prize (including $250) as well as the equally honorable People’s Choice Award. These top recipes will be eligible to be used as the base recipe for the Meatloaf product, now in development. Registration fee is $5.00. Registration ends March 28th. For registration information, contact Painted Hills Natural Beef at the above numbers and/or Projects Coordinator Jessica Bates at jessica@natural-beef.com.

The April 2nd event will include display and sampling of participating meatloaves for company judging and community choice. In addition, Painted Hills Natural Beef will be served in the dinner buffet. Local musical talent Merle Boehlke (pronounced Bówl-ky) & the Ole Country Band will provide classic country entertainment for the evening. Event admission is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids under 12 – available at the door. Painted Hills will donate a portion of event proceeds to the local Food Pantry.

Painted Hills personnel are excited for the event “This is a great opportunity to involve the local public in our business. This company is not only proud of where it’s headed, but also where it comes from. The local communities have been very supportive, but to this point, not very involved. It’s our hope that our friends and loyal customers will be able to become, in some small way, a part of the legacy we are building at Painted Hills,” said Jessica Bates, the event’s coordinator.
