Official Statement: Carbon Monoxide Use in Meat Packaging Operations

(Fossil, Ore. ) – Painted Hills Natural Beef does not currently employ the use of Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) in any of their case-ready products.  It is this packaging that can contain small amounts of Carbon Monoxide (CO) for the preservation of product color. No Carbon Monoxide is used in the packaging of any Painted Hills Natural Beef products.
