Painted Hills Members Become Beef Quality Assurance Certified

February 4, 2005 – Several Painted Hills Natural Beef Board Members became Beef Quality Assurance certified last week, including President Mehrten Homer, Corporate Vice-President Dan Domenighini, and Operations Manager Will Homer. Participating members plan to bring what their new knowledge back to the company in order to further enhance company animal safety and quality standards.

The Beef Quality Assurance program was established in 1982 in an attempt to bring beef quality and safety issues into focus at the grass roots level. Since its launch, the nationwide program has been educating cattle ranchers concerning animal safety and care with an overlying goal to improve consistency in their beef products. The program is practiced in 47 states. Each state applies modifications specific to its region and ranching environment.

Oregon State University sponsored the training session which focused primarily on enhancing beef safety, quality and value in cattle, and producing beef that enhances consumer satisfaction.
